Hello everyone, today I will tell you about a person I admire in my field of study. The person I admire is a Brazilian pedagogue, his name is Paulo Freire, probably people who study pedagogy or social sciences are familiar with him. Paulo Freire is very important for psychology applied to the educational context, he is recognized for his critique of traditional education or as he calls "banking pedagogy". It is teacher-centered and not student-centered, a type of pedagogy that does not consider or give importance to the experiences and knowledge of the students. As a result, he created the theory of the pedagogy of the oppressed, a new way of looking at education. He points out that every educational act is eminently a political and ethical fact, which implies that the work of teachers is linked to an ideological and not an objective fact. This type of education proposed by Freire seeks the full and authentic development of others, which seeks a full develo...

Hello everyone, today I'll talk about how my specialty contributes to making the world a better place. Psychology is an interweaving of different theories and practices, within them one can find diverse lines in which one can work, for example, there is psychology applied to the clinic (which is perhaps the best known), to the educational context, to the community, to the organizational and to the juridical. All of them have in common that they seek to contribute to people's mental health. Mental health is considered to be a state of well-being both subjectively and physically. Psychology is a career that transforms people, who will be in charge of changing their own world and thus at some point be able to transform the world. Psychology gives the possibility to position mental health as one of the most important axes for the well-being of people. As psychologists we have a very big and delicate job because we are working with people's traumas and vulnerabilitie...

Hello everyone, today I am going to tell you about my favorite food. First of all I want to say that I am extremely picky with food, in fact I eat very few things for the same reason, because there are few things that I really like. One of them is potatoes in all its versions, it's a super versatile food and to everyone's taste. My favorite version of potatoes are french fries, I like their crunchiness and that it's a food that brings people together because it's a food that is shared with others. French fries are made by cutting the potatoes into sticks 1-2 cm thick, then let them rest to remove excess water, and finally fry them in very hot oil. After a few minutes they should be ready to enjoy. French fries are not the healthiest food there is due to the use of oil, however today there are other ways to prepare them such as in the air fryer where they are just as good but without the need for oil.

Post 3: My Favorite Piece of Technology

Hello everyone, today I will talk about my favorite piece of technology. Honestly, I don't have many pieces of technology at my disposal, I only have a cell phone and a computer. I use my cell phone more often because it is more convenient and practical. Most of the things I do on the computer I can do on the cell phone, so this is my favorite piece of technology. I use it mostly for communicating with people and for university related things. I think if it weren't for my cell phone I wouldn't be able to find out about all the things that happen at the university. As for recommending its use is a bit conflicting, on the one hand, it's an object that makes things much easier for you, that gives you what you need immediately, which is very favorable. However, it's important to recognize that it is necessary to be very careful with the excessive use of this, especially at early ages.

Post 2: Why did I choose my major?

Hello everyone, today I will tell you about my career and why I chose it. When I was a child, I don't remember thinking about a career to study in the future. Maybe I was thinking of the typical careers a child thinks of, doctor, astronaut, firefighter, etc. For me it wasn't an important issue at the time, in fact I honestly don't remember thinking much about it.  However, when I was 16 years old I thought about studying a career related to mathematics because it was easy for me to understand. However, one day a professor asked me if I wanted to work with numbers for the rest of my life, my answer was no. It was at that point that I decided to think about what was easy for me to understand and whether it was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. It was at 17 when I had a psychology course in high school and I knew it was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. My teacher at the time motivated me to do it and well, here I am, ...
